Introduction

The Squad was formed in 1985 by a group of coaches and shooters to provide coaching and training opportunities in the international pistol shooting (now ISSF) disciplines. Since Feb ’98, when the use of cartridge pistols was banned in most of the UK, we continued our activities with air pistols and then added 10m air rifle shooting.  Since 2013, we have embraced 0.22 rimfire at 50m. 

We are open to shooters who want to train with a coach’s guidance.  You may want to get into a “National” Squad, or reach a standard where you can represent your region. With your motivation and co-operation the Squad can help.

Our aims:

• To provide coaching and training opportunities in ISSF rifle and pistol events, for those aspiring to Regional, Home Country, or National representation.
• To promote ISSF shooting within the Region, and provide teams for inter-regional competitions.

Shooting disciplines

• • 10m: Pistol (precision and rapid) and Rifle

• • 25m: Sport Pistol, Standard Pistol, & Rapid Fire

• • 50m: Rifle, prone, and 3 position, Pistol 

Quality

The lead coaches are NSRA and/or ISSF- qualified at Regional or County level.  

We are affiliated to the NSRA, no 5706.
